At times, serving others in ministerial practice can be challenging. Bowen Family Systems Theory can help to empower and strengthen one's understanding of ministry. Explore all the interconnected systematic daily realities of your ministerial leadership and decide how you wish to respond grounded in God's call for your life. This educational seminar examines the practice of ministry through the 8 concepts from Bowen Family Systems Theory and the 9th concept, the Function of Spirituality. The journey also includes personal ministerial experiences and stories of Jesus from the Gospels.

THE BASICS
- Continuing education opportunity offering personal and professional growth for religious leaders and seminary students from all faith traditions. Open to all, those new and those with past experiences in Bowen Family Systems Theory.
- This course explores all 8 concepts in Bowen Family Systems Theory and the 9th concept, the Function of Spirituality. Stories from ministerial experiences and of Jesus from the Gospels will be shared. Related systematic practice tools will be examined. Seminar members are expected to have completed required readings in advance of each meeting to ensure a conversational approach.
- Live interactive webinars fully online on Zoom. Intimate setting, maximum of 10 students. Meets one time per month over a 6 month period, 6 sessions, 2 hours each. Each session includes Theory Time, Student Presentations, and Q&A. This is an educational course and NOT for you if you are in crisis and wanting personal counseling. It is education in nature and not intended to be group therapy.
- This course meets from 1PM to 3PM on the fourth Saturday of the month starting Saturday, ---. Other dates include: Saturday, ---.
- Fee is $-- per participant. Attendance is a condition of enrollment. No refunds once the course begins or for sessions that you miss.
- Two books are required and not included in tuition fee. Michael Kerr and Murray Bowen, Family Evaluation: An Approached Based on Bowen Theory, W.W. Norton, 1988 and Ronald W. Richardson, Creating a Healthier Church: Family Systems Theory, Leadership, and Congregational Life, Fortress Press, 1996. Both may be located through a local library or bookseller.
