Simply, It's a Bible for Our Times
Why do we use the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) translation of the Bible?
Simply, it is a Gr8 version of the Bible for our current times. In our seminary studies we first learned about the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV). The NRSV is the most widely used version of any modern English translation by academics and church leaders. It offers updated language, accurate translations, easy to read and voice, and intended for all humans, male and female, as the original scriptures were originally intended. Published in 1989, it is widely ecumenical and was translated by 30 top scholars, men and women, from various Protestant traditions, the Roman Catholic Church, and the Greek Orthodox Church as well as a Jewish scholar. It has been endorsed by 33 Protestant churches; received the imprimatur of the American and Canadian Conferences of Catholic bishops; and, received the blessing of a leader in the Greek Orthodox Church.
The Center to Awaken Kindness and "Da Revs" exclusively use the NRSV version of the Bible on this website and all our related products.
